Collection: Light Dwelling

Surrendered to earth’s intelligence we could rise up rooted, like trees.

- Rainer Maria Rilke

“Light Dwelling” offers comfort and stimulation through evocative paintings, urging viewers to seek ineffable strength, light, and beauty from within themselves. In an age of pervasive technology, global turmoil, and irreversible change, the deep divisions and the profound societal anxiety that find their genesis in impersonal egoism have spurred the artist to take solace in the essential assuagement and understanding she extracts from nature’s endless beauty. Inspired by recent journeys seeking familial roots in Cardiff, Wales and her birthplace of Alexandria, Virginia, the artist revisited themes of home, roots, timing, place and self. Stemming from these interpretations grew imagery and color fields rendered in echoed layers of nature unfolding, the essence of connection and transformation. These new mixed media paintings and works on paper reflect Jones’ ability to translate the depth of memories and emotional experiences found while traveling into unique and stunning artistic representations that evoke the viewer’s own connection.
